Yes, it does smell like a a steep flacid downward dimension is added to this mystery. I don't think the forum police will approve my elaboraton on the topic though.

The silence from people who had an opinion on the Incheon post means there are zero arguments to still back Up the theory of Manika's great skills.
She has great skills,no doubt about that but the cause of her great blocking at Incheon was her great technique?......Then ,in less than one month she blocks ,AGAIN scandalously long and many times missing the table....MMMMMM ..... just look at her frustration .,...- she must be thinking : " why did my coach make me change the material once again......more speed against the Chinese ok .......but I block worse and worse...."

I agree, but she didn't lean on that too much. Mainly fantastic LP backhand play and FH attacks with just enough inverted BH shots to keep the opponent off balance.

It might be a bit inappropriate for me to discuss the play and potential illicit actions of top players like Manika. However, I must express my observations... as I have been struggling for years with various combinations of blade + long pips rubber. There is definitely a difference in matches where the ball reacts completely differently when struck with Grass D.TecS OX... in that match, the ball simply has more underspin rotation during blocks, thus flying shorter and bouncing much lower. Now... whether it's due to a different blade or something else, it's hard to assess. In that footage, it's evident that the Grass D.TecS is much slower compared to other clips. After playing with that LP for several years, I can write this... I achieved the best effect in blocking when I soaked the LP rubber-Grass D.Tecs OX in sunflower oil for 3 hours, then washed it thoroughly with soap. The pimples became softer, and the blocks were much shorter and more awkward for the opponent. But after maybe 20 hours of play, and perhaps 20-30 days, the rubber started behaving strangely, as if a chemical process continued, causing many pimples to soften to the point of breaking, and eventually, the entire rubber began to disintegrate. However, those few training sessions were very, very challenging for any of my opponents. I'm not saying that Manika did this, by no means, just sharing my experiences.
So, from what I've gathered, it's absolutely not worth it for me to change the rubber every month. I've tried it a couple of times and the rubber was amazing, but it lasted only a month. Since then, I haven't done it anymore. Just to clarify, I only play recreationally, I don't compete at all.

Thank you for your observations.I do agree with you.However,please. do notice how the ball against WANG pings off significantly differently too .The ball pings off much slower against Hayata .

...

Iskandar , I know this for a fact because I did try this myself with a red D.techs when I tested it a few years ago.You can reduce the speed of any LP by 30/ 40 % if you can make the back side less elastic .

.

Perhaps this question of mine isn't quite on topic... but how can this LP rubber's speed be reduced? If it's already been discussed, I'd kindly ask for a link to be provided... thank you very much

You do realize that rubbers are inspected before every match? If you did this the rubber would expand and you would exceed the maximum tolerance for pip length.

Soft hands and practice...lots of practice!

Yes, of course, I understand and know that equipment is checked before such competitions. But I also think and know that for such a short period, it was impossible for any player on the planet to play so differently with the same equipment. If the equipment was different, then maybe it's possible, but with a small percentage of probability. Because I think that at such a level of competition, it's very impractical to conduct any experiments with the player in such a short period, no matter how talented they are. No top coach would do that. In any case, hats off to Batra for the game in both matches, whether the equipment was slower or faster.

Also, thanks for the training recommendation :). Although now I only do it recreationally, I used to compete actively in the past. Previously, I played for years only with smooth rubbers, and in recent years I have been playing a little with both lp and sp.
