Yes, I saw that match and a couple of his other matches in the ECL. What you also see is that his opponents aren't used to play against a short pips defender. Their normal tactic that works against lower-leveled long pip defenders don't work there, especially with his first chop.

Yep, he had lots of problems reading the spin. Too bad Hou misses a lots of FH (attack and chops) and pushes too far with his BH sometimes. But his side-spin chops are beautiful :clap:

Nice to see Hou Yingchao playing good again, its sad to think he used to be a legitimate top 10 player back in 2006, any idea what Hou is using in his FH these days?

haifu doesnt have black sponge anymore, but thats what he used to use

i have seen him play recently with a blue sponge which is what i think that is on the video

Samsonov is good but these days Xu Xin usually makes an absolute mess of defenders.
