I don't want to promise too much but it's been a while since I spoke to Fabian and was thinking of giving him a call soon. If you've got any questions to like to have answered just post them here and I'll do my best...

I think we all would like to know exactly what equipment he's playing with at the moment, especially the LP and the blade. Personally I would also like to know his opinions on the SpinLord Zeitgeist and Palio CK531A which I believe he tried.

Haggisv just advised that I'm a few months late on this and that you guys have already put a lengthy list together  I'll see what I can do on getting these answered.

Thanks for the vid. The marginal quality somehow really reminds me of the first videotapes of tt I watched back in the 80's. Ah, nostalgia.

Dude, auzcar, if your friend is going to be at this one too, tell him to bring a real camcorder and record the heck out of it.

Well, I asume Auzcars friend is swedish, and the match was played in Minsk (team match between Sweden and Belarus in European National Leauge), so I guess he didn't ;)

Anyway, Chtchetinine won with 9–11, 9–11, 11–6, 17–15, 14–12

Hopefully, someone has recorded this one :)

Hehe, my friend is Swedish and he was at practice with me so I doubt he recorded the match ;)

On another note I played the Swedish Championship this weekend and I played REALLY bad so lets just ignore my performance. However, I did get to see Fabian, Classe and Magoo which are the top three LP-blockers in Sweden as far as I know. I feel kinda stupid though as my clubs camera was broken and my battery ran out on my Iphone on the friday. I was planning to record their matches in the second round but all of them lost their first matches, especially Fabian played really bad, I've never seen him play that bad. The good news though is that I sat at the front row as close to him as I possibly could and I was able to see that he played with Palio CK531A. I wasn't able to see if he played with sponge or not but one of my "contacts" told me yesterday that he thought it was OX, don't know where he got that information from but he is usually a very reliable source.

Did you see what blade and LP Classe uses?

Classe said in an interview some year ago that he used Akkadi L2. I don't know if he still does.

He played with a somewhat fast Stiga blade, I couldn't see the exact colors but it looked like a Optimum Plus or perhaps a Energy Wood, at least it was that pattern on the handle. I didn't see which LP he played with (I wasn't able to sit as close when I watched this match) but it was VERY worn and there was a area where he held his finger while serving that completely "missed" pimples. My guess would also be Akkadi L2. Anyway, he was more of a Pushblocker type and took the ball hard off the bounce, even earlier than our own Pushblocker. He almost never made any easy mistakes and he had a good FH, not for playing at that level though. He won his points by being safe with the pimples and use good placenment.

Magoo was kind of a cross between Fabian and Classe and had more of a chop-block technique which he executed with extremely good timing. He also used the FH a lot more than Classe but not as much as Fabian, IMO opinion Magoo is definitely a better player than Classe and should be considered as the second best LP blocker in Sweden. His blade was a Persson Power Allround, didn't catch what LP he used but that is something I can find out if someone is interested as I have a friend who knows him quite well.
