Hmm, I wonder why he never gave the hurricanes/chinese style rubbers a try during his main career... if he likes those better now, seems like he would have been around enough of them to at least test out!

HE used Tackfire drive before the tenergy and the speedglue ban. So he used chinese style rubbers before.

and on the pics looks like black sponge or really dark blue spong h3.
the blade still looks like joo blade

Awesome news!

Google translate:
The Bundesliga side succeeded in signing the vice-world champion and former world ranking 5, who last paused two years, for the new season. "A big story for the whole league", says Wr. Neustadts sports director Franz Gernjak, who admits: "Of course he will not be present in all games. Certainly at the season opener, which we necessarily after Wr. Want to get to Neustadt. Especially to be able to present the local fans Sae-Hyuk up close. "I am sure that table tennis fans from Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic will not miss the gig as well." Especially since Sae-Hyuk offers spectacle that is a defensive king.

He need to get his footwork back... He is too slow and not in position for his chops. And he should try the BH serve earlier in the match :).

H3 on FH?

Yes, he confirmed it in his interview. Nexy works with DHS, Tibhar and others.. and after testing a ton of various rubbers he went with the safest choice. He gets his H3s (Prov, Nat?) through his sponsorship directly from the factory.

Hainan Grandmaster Grand Prix 2019:

SPOILER: Joo is not in shape yet. Loses all three games. Why is that? Is it the level he needs to get used to again or is it his recent change in material?

I watched all his recent matches the other day and he is clearly not in shape. In preparation for these matches he played Korean semi-pros and even there he didn't dominate. Here he played guys from the top 100 and while his first couple matches (Ionescu and Robles) were decent - Gerasimenko destroyed him with his loops. Joo needs to go back to the drawing board and train more seriously, multiball, etc. He's good enough to play exhibition matches but if he was serious about playing on the tour again he's gotta try a little harder. IMHO he's playing WR 100-150 level at the moment.

So where is he? Hong Kong -- nope, China Open - nope... T-League in August - it's already mid-August and no news.

Any updates?
