After posting a vid showing some pretty lame spin back to the net type serves I thought I had better post some real ones. Take my word for it, these all have 50% more spin than the ones the other day and are a much better pace, height and length. I think the different follow-through position is more based on how far from my body the ball is when I hit it rather than a conscious decision. See what you think.

Look at the bat angle which is parallel to the table on contact, These serves can be in theory improved with a later contact WKC knows this, but having faced them personally they are well structured and linked to his game ( the b/hand follow up is consistent and devastating.) His reversed kicker is nowhere near as good as mine though, and not as well disguised, Hit me WKC

Later contact would improve things, but there would be less of me to (accidentally) get between the ball and my opponent from time to time.

This is the first time I have really looked at my serve in any detail, there seems be a few things to look at. Certainly should be able to time the reverse serve much better as most of the bat movement is after the ball has left the bat.

give or take advantages, a grip change on the said serve is needed, to exploit maximum advantage. You know what I mean WKC.

The reverse is not a serve I use very often as it is easy to muck up when you never practice serves. I tend to pull it out at crucial points in a game (and usually muck it up). Might have to start working on it because even without practice lots of people put the first couple in the net.

This network here does not allow viewing streaming video, bummer. This is one I really want to see along with some of Bogeyhunter's service vids. Maybe a couple months later I get a different network with different policies allowing it.

I have a few shots from the front, but wanted to show the service action rather than the ball flight. Didn't get many shots as Fred was keen to get on with his practice and get home for tea.

 I see what you mean.

 I find the service action incredibly simple...and strangely elegant.

I will keep the vid on a while then. I was planning to take it off soon when the kids who know nothing about the complexities of what is going on start rating it 1* or saying it is crap as they do with anything they can't do themselves. If it isn't there when you are able to see it, PM me and I will make it accessible again.
