I am VERY tempted by this DVD set, not only because it is being received so well but because it is taught by someone using a windshield wiper grip.

Since Dan have so many fans here in this forum, I suggest he give a discount to members of this forum, but then, it is really unfair for those who had bought the DVD already, meaning NB.

Yes, would be unfair. If I win the lotto, I will buy a few thousand and give them to schools.
I not only want it for myself but also to use for coaching students. Right now, I use "Table Tennis 101" which is real good for basics but this one is bound to be much better for the more advanced.

Hey, hookshot, I had "table tennis 101" too, it is amazing how much we are alike, first the same ballroom dance DVDs and now this, truly amazing.

We all have weaknesses. I have several but if I told you then my opponents would find out.
Cheng's serve is a bit hidden and the ball is spinning on both serves initially then the dead ball can be seen but it is a bit late. Being a lefty against a righty it is hard to see the contact. It is much easier for a righty to read the serve. I did go for a flick at 9-8 mine in the 4th game and it missed by a centimeter .2 points later the match was over.

Thanks for answering my question.

There are quite a few Seemiller/American grip players in this forum, all of whom love it. I know there is the added advantage of no center weakness. Does it make any sense for a shakehand player to transition over?

No I don't think making the switch is a good idea.

I agree. I refuse to teach it to students unless they already used it. I will play the Seemiller grip forever. Tried shake for a solid year and missed the options of anti or pips too much.

Hi Dan, I'm a right hander, and when playing leftys, I often serve from the middle of the table as opposed to the b/hand corner because as you say, the contact is naturally more hidden from the leftys normal recieving position, do you hold yr ground, or move across to the f/hand slightly to see more, when this happens to you? the downside being it exposes a larger b/hand angle for you.

You will come to find that Dan Seemiller is not only a class player, but a class person and coach. I have had the pleasure of meeting him on several occations and played against him 1 time. No, I didnt beat him. I will tell you one thing that still impresses me to this day. I can walk into a tourney and have not talked or seen Coach Seemiller in a few months and say "hey coach" and he will look at me and say without even thinking "hey Joe". Now understand that he has coached hundreds if not thousands of players over the years so for him to remember me. A middle age junk player. I just think he is a great guy.

Coach Seemiller and Coach Nordby have a great thing going on up there and maybe someday if the wife and money permit I will make it up to one of his seminars.
