The ultimate disruptive weapon with half-long pimples

Our well-known half-long pimple rubber series K.O. and K.O. PRO is now being enhanced by an even more disruptive new version.

K.O. EXTREME comes with a new pimple geometry and a new sponge, raising the bar to a new level for this type of rubber.
Blocking, counter-attacking and hitting will produce a surprisingly low bounce, causing major trouble to the opponent and even direct mistakes.

The soft sponge allows for high dynamics while attacking however the rubber requires some practice hours in order to be mastered.

This makes K.O. EXTREME a very good alternative for experienced players seeking maximum disruptive effect with half-long pimples, combined with good attacking possibilities.

Push:
Can be done medium to low, need a little bit
of adapt the angle to keep it (very) low compare to KO Pro.
Push is easy but little faster than other KO versions.
Push is little bit like inverted

Service / service return:
Insensitive to incoming spin, attacking opponent service is much more easy with the Extreme version due the speed.

Blocks:
Blocks like the other KO versions, ball comes faster, dives a little bit.

Chopping:
Possible with some training but not its great strenght, backspin is average and faster speed.

Against no spin ball and backspin:
Definitely the most easy version of KO to produce a hit and attack against no spin and balls with backspin. It is also the fastest version of the KO series so that makes sense. I found it very easy to attack and flip service from my opponent due the speed and soft sponge, putting pressure right away with this rubber is easy, not a lot of time to react for your opponent. It doesn’t matter which spin is on the ball, you always can attack the ball no matter what, the speed plays a very important role in this aspect, very nice.

Deception:
Average deception for a medium pip. Who liked the previous KO version but missed that extra little speed to putting pressure right away, KO Extreme is a very good option. I found the other KO versions more deceptive in general in the passive way. Active the KO Extreme has more deception: hit, counterattack,… But with the KO Extreme you have a lot more options to counter your opponents game due the speed. Very important too !

Conclusion:
In general KO Extreme is the fastest version of the KO rubbers.
Speed: KO Extreme > KO Pro > KO
Control: KO > KO Pro > KO Extreme
Deception: KO >= KO Pro > KO Extreme (active is KO Extreme little bit more deceptive, passive the KO Pro and KO normal are better deception)

Very good review .However, you could test the passive blocking the next time .I guess with 1.5 sponge the blocks are not so effective as the active ones .

In the passive block, the ball tended to fall to the net, this rubber you need to make gesture, and if the topspin does not have much power it is better to block with a push from top to down. Have to dedicate some time to this rubber to realize its full potential.

I guess the 1.3 version is available. I tested the 1.3 version of regular K.O a few years ago and it was disruptive enough.I think the 1.3 version of K.O extreme might be better due to the added speed.

I did not compete with regular K.O as I do not like blocking with sponged pips whether is is passive or active blocking but I admit it is nasty to play against a K.O . player .

Also, I have been wondering about the reason to choose the Magical touch blade from the doc .

I guess it is off - in speed and suitable for your active game ? .

and what about the reason for choosing the rubber in green?

I admit some rubbers perform better in the new colours.Dms Kamikaze green version is one that impressed me a lot .

You are right, I chose the magic touch because it has enough speed and at the same time is light, I like woods that do not exceed 80 gr. With all hinoky woods it is easier to attack with pimples ( (although they are less disruptive, you put more balls in play), and that blade is a good mix of stiffness and feel of the ball with its outer layers of hinoki

The color green, in addition to being pretty, is mainly because I train players to learn to play with pimples and against pimples and with rubberof other colors, they are more aware of where stay the pip when twiddle

The pleasant surprise with this new version of KO is the weight - only 41gm for a 1.5mm sheet. KO like many DR Neubauer rubbers has always been very heavy.

They claim a new top sheet as well as sponge so it is an all new rubber as is the new Explosion soft and Tornado Supreme maybe made at a different factory. From the appearance of the top sheets and sponges possibly the same one that makes equivalent rubbers for Spinlord - just at a higher price !!! .

I suspect the new KO sponge is probably on the soft side - can anyone confirm

BJ20. are you still using this rubber in 1.3mm black?

Can it create any side or top spin in attacking slowish low spin balls and does it bottom out much on your fairly hard Matador blade.

I assume it is pretty light in 1.3mm. if buying again would you stick with 1.3mm or maybe go to 1.5mm?
