Blade: Nittaku Violin (Off-)
FH: Joola EGP 2.0 (red)
BH: Bty Cermet 1.9 (black)
Previous blade: Andro Blax Off

I think the Off- rating suits this blade quitte well, it's noticably slower than my Blax Off and a lot faster than my All+ Stiga blade. I find that for a blade in this speed range it is very controllable due to the sometimes slightly too viberant feedback and it's ability to properly play touch shots.
I've always struggled with counterlooping and good bh topspin shots, however with the Violin I'm able to land far more of these, this might be due to the more solid and stable feeling on even mid distance.
Without rubber this blade is balanced about 4 cm above the handle and with these specific rubbers glued on the balance is about 6 cm above the handle. Unfortunatly I cannot weigh the blade but I can say it's heavier than my previous blade but doesn't feel unconfortable and it has taken me like 10 minutes to adjust my technique to the new blade balance and weight.
The rumors that the handle is very thin are true, luckily my hands are not that big hehe but for some people this might be an issue.
Further this is not a loopers dream or anything but a blade that performs very well overal on attacking strokes (drive, loop, agressive blocking) and performs ok on the more defensive strokes, meaning it does well on loops for me but this is not the pure focus for this blade.
So if you enjoy all wood blades and are in search of a blade with an outstanding speed/control(feel) rating and have a game that isn't 99% looping this blade is for you.

Summary: All wood, plenty of feedback(too much for some people?), thin handle, overal offensive orientated, slightly head heavy, stable, Off-.

Seems like this is a keeper for me :D.

Anybody shares/opposes this view?

It is a very good blade, but for me I will classify it as OFF because my Violin C-pen is quite fast.

It's good to hear that you've found a blade that you really like. Stick with it for a while, it may be the best one for you. :)

A good advice remains good advice, regardless of who says it. My senior colleague once said to me :"Do what I tell you to do, but don't do what I do" :D

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. :P

But seriously, I'm all for sticking with a good setup once you find it. Problem is that second part, finding it. :D

Ooh, that looks like a damn nice setup. It's a shame that pistol may get banned, though. :?

I do not see a reason for Pistol to get banned, it is neither long or frictionless! Have you heard anything solid about this or is it just rumors?

Well, I know Pistol is on the lowest end of the friction scale for SP, so the possibility of it getting banned is there. I can't say anything for sure, obviously, but I just wanted to let you know so you wouldn't get a nasty surprise if it does get banned.

I always thought it was the other way around (on the highest end of friction) as I can create MUCH more spin (topspin, side and back) than the rest of the pips-out rubbers I used (including 563-1, 802, 802-40 and Juic Offence Ultima).

Were those other pips you tried also on a 2mm thick sponge?

563-1: Tried 1.5, 1.8 hard and 2.0 soft
802: 2.0
802.40: 2.0 and 2.2
Juic: 2.0 and 1.5 (to be tried tomorrow)

Actually because I just broke a few pips on my Pistol 2.0mm, I will try the Juic 1.5mm for the first time on my 1-ply Hinoki blade and see how it will work. I will keep you posted :)
