Hey hookshot, I hit a forehand with the first finger side but am slowly learning to hit it with the second finger side because it was recommended to me.

I posted a few early photos of this blade on mytt, and thought I'd post the final photos here. I knew that the dyed-blue maple handle would not appeal to everyone, but I was happy with how it turned out. This is a personal blade, so I was the guinea pig. :)

I love the blue colouring. It makes the wood grain look a little like gold inlay.

Ross the colour of the handle is absolutely fantastic. How did you come up with this?

It's not difficult to find dyed & stablized wood blanks - pen turners use them all the time. It is a little more difficult to find blocks large enough to use for handle grips. But, I recently found a good supplier, and this blue handle was from the first block I purchased from him. While I still prefer natural wood colors, the dyed wood was a fun diversion.

Is there any information about long term stability of the finish (not this new one but all these really beautiful art pieces already published) after using the blade (heavily sweating) ?

Hi Chris - I just replied to your email about this, so this will be a repeat for you. I purchased the wood pre-dyed from a new wood supplier I just found. He offers a number of different colors. I just bought some red for a blade order coming up.

These wood blocks are also stablized. The wood is stablized by infusing it with resin under high vacuum, which makes it immune to changes in temperature and humidity. It will be virtually impervious to sweaty hands. :)

Wow, nice looking combination blade!

I'm very curious to hear what the reasoning is behind the cork layer? Is it for pimple play?

Hello, sorry for the delay.

I did thinking of the modern defensive game. (Joo Hyuk is OR Fabian Åkerström).

A quick forehand and a backhand slow. I intend to send a video for all to see as the blade works.

A CORK + BALSA was developed for long pimple Grass D. TECS.

Hi Ross,

I'm interested in your blue handle blade. Do you ship to Philippines? I'm willing to pay first and wait for the blade. Could you recommend a blade for me? I play slightly away from the table and an aggressive looper in the forehand. On backhand, I love to chop but can perform good backhand push and drive. My current set up is in my signature. An all wood or composite blade with flared handle is appreciated. I tend to play with it but will preserve it the best that I can. Maybe someday, it would worth a fortune!
