I've been toying with the idea of trying a composite blade, mostly out of curiousity but also because I want a faster blade for mid to far distance play.
So far at the top of my list is the Galaxy W1 Woodking, Galaxy Wavestone Carbon/arylate, T7 or T8, CTTA Carbon Flex, & the Dynasty HinokiCarbon.

Playstyle is offensive loops, flat hits/smashes, some blocking & pushing only when I need to. I also like it spinny with good feel.

Should I be considering something else? 7 Ply wood or a balsa blade/composite?

Just looking for some feedback & suggestions.

thanks in advance
eric

I'd concur with Sunflex. I think a K4 would be great. I have a K3 and it felt the best bat I had tried until I got used to the Hurricane King (now the K3 feels a little shabby for some reason LOL).

From what I can tell the Wavestone is an excellent blade. Its not Galaxy, its Dawei though. At first, I thought it was just Speedplay that loved the Wavestone, but it seems it has a much broader appeal.

I haven't used a W1, but I do have a W6 and its got a nice feel. Good for all the stuff you said Eric. I would say that the W1 might be superior though, given its price and Hookshot loves it, which speaks volumes.

I think the construction is part of what gives the W-1 the feel and power. The center ply is 1/8" thick but the grain goes from blade face to blade face.
It has a good touch with no vibrations but awesome power when you want it. :D

Out of your list I've only played with Wavestone and it fits the description you mentioned in my experience with the blade. Was going to try the Hinoki Carbon a while back but couldn't find any.

How about the Avalox p700? Seems to suit the style you describe very well too, and it's hard to beat the feel of this blade...
