Ah.. So hard drives are easy to control, while finesse shots are not, and often don't land on target? I think this might be the sign of a blade that's too fast. That might be why I like the M8 so much, I find it much easier to push and block short, while also being able to control, say, long pushes into the corners or over-the-table rolls or flips of the opponent's pushes or serves. I can recall other blades that were way too fast (an extreme example would be that Yinhe N6 I won at an auction on ebay - Eacheng doesn't do these anymore, they were a lot of fun  ). These fast blades could control hard topspin drives, but soft shots were harder to land.

Strangely enough - to me blades seem to matter a lot, but rubbers don't. I still haven't found a rubber that's "too fast" - even Rasant Turbo and Evolution MX-P were fine for the soft shots. (There ARE rubbers which are "too slow", though - 999T, H3 and especially Ckylin come to mind... Ckylin was WAAAY too slow.. and so was Tackiness Chop, I remember from the 1980s..)
