Blade: Bty Gergely T5000
FH: TSP Regalis Blue Max
BH: Tibhar Grass Dtecs
Well Suplazza I came back to TT with a blade that was way over 25 years old and it played ok, despite the dead rubbers lol. After I discarded it for newer blades I did have another brief hit with it before I stripped its rubbers and was quite surprised how good it felt compared to the new ones. I have seen many other blades that other club members have that are over 10 years old and still going strong. A blade can always break, but if you treat it well by putting in a cover and not sitting under heavy stuff it should last a long time. Much more than 5 years. It helps if you superglue the edge all around your blade a few layers so protect from dings, and also run some superglue along the edge of the handle where it contacts the blade at the neck, will make it tougher. If you really love the blade that much, buy another, but don't forget that as we move along in the game our taste changes and you might find the blade falls out of favour eventually when something even better comes along. Bear this in mind when deciding to buy another.

A blade will last forever unless you break it or if it is store in extreme conditions (temperature, humidity). However it is a good idea to have a spare blade, just in case there is an accident. Just make sure that the spare blade has more or less the same weight with the one you are having now.
