On Aliexpress, you can find many fake Butterfly blades for under $40, such as TB ALC and ZJK ZLC. The painting looks nice, but based on the price is obviously fake.

Has anybody tried these blades? Any idea how they play?

Are they similar to clone blades by Yinhe?

I bought TB ALC fake to measure the difference, first of all my blade came with a heavy glue smell. I applied R50 and DNA Pro H and the racket became very heavy, but the performance was similar to an OFF ALC Blade, balls are fast and spinny, I did not peel off the rubbers yet so I cannot say about durability of the outer ply. I believe if you are not a collector and just want to see how the composition works, trying one of these would be more cost friendly :)

I think you're going to find a lot of variation, because they're made in many different places. So if someone gets a good one, it does not mean you'll get one the same.

Could you actually verify the ALC layers in your fake blade?

YinHe is a reputable brand and in my experience they have very good QC (the finishing, even on their cheapest blades, is excellent) and consistent output (blades of the same label play the same), so I'd guess that the YinHe clones would be a better bet if you want to see whether a premium Butterfly blade is right for you before you pay the premium price.

Those clones may cost a bit more than the fakes, but my gut feel is that they will also be better, both in general build quality and in approximation of playing characteristics.

An added bonus of buying a clone instead of a fake is that you will not be supporting crime. Fake branding is an offense in most, if not all jurisdictions. Advertising a product as aspiring to be like, or better than, some other (perhaps better known) product is generally accepted.

No. Sorry! I don't have that kind of knowledge about their product range. You are probably right.

It seems that I didn't get the essence of your question when I responded. I apologize!

There was a time when these were all over AliExpress, but they don't seem as common as they once were (about five years ago). I did try a fake Primorac, once - nothing really remarkable about it. I did wait until the price dropped way low before I bought one..

I agree about Yinhe blades. Their build quality is nothing short of excellent. Even for the $10-11 blades I used to buy (I used the N11, ended up with three weight-matched ones). These things had mirror-smooth surfaces. They actually do manufacture the blades themselves, they even slice their own veneer. And manufacture their own rubber. They posted photos on their website's forum. A lot of the other Chinese companies actually have other companies OEMing their blades.

There are tons of ZLC blades around, every company seems to have their own versions. I'm sure Yinhe does.

What do you mean that the fake Primorac wasnt remarkable? Was it close to the playing characteristic of the real primorac? or was it just a generic blade with primorac paint on it?

Are you saying the STUOR factory is making all the fake blades? For example: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002 ... 2e0e6fgeKr

Or is the STUOR branded blades different from these?
