I'm looking to reinforce sweet spot and reduce vibration for a two speed combi blade. I'm wondering if 1 carbon layer only is possible.
Will a material such as Glass FIber or Textreme or Soft Carbon be ok?
Also what exactly is the difference between these 3?
I'd like to avoid adding too much speed to the slow side. Does putting the carbon layer deeper on the fast side (lets say right below the outer ply) decrease it's impact on the slow side a lot?

To answer your easiest question-yes one side carbon does "work" but the slow side may have more speed than you like. I have two blades that have one side with carbon and one side without carbon. Both are in the OFF- range on the FH and are ALL+ or so on the BH-but nothing I cannot adjust too. If you want your slow side DEF I think it will be difficult. The deeper in the blade the more the carbon will influence the "slow" side. I do not know about the materials you are asking about. I think it would be a fantastic project if you had the time to do several blades and compare the results. Clearly the closer a carbon layer is to the surface will make the fast side stiffer and crisper with a better sweet spot. I also think using softer woods on the slow side can be very helpful.
