When I keep saying choppers need 180 mm by 180 mm blades everyone keep saying I am crazy,

But now I feel happy & totally vindicated & I am not crazy afterall

You will understand better if you know the woman in the picture ?

I just cannot believe I did not notice this about her all these years

That is utter rubbish!
Why?
With a 180mm wide blade, there are few rubbers which will cover the blade sufficiently to be considered legal.

See this. Sort for width and you find 37 different rubbers which are cut to 178mm or wider. (Length is not so critical, as you can allow for a bare wood area near the handle.)

Adjust that list for availability, suitability for a chopper, and personal preference. I get "severe limitations". What do you get?

I wouldn't go that far. "Constrained" will do.

Angelica was fine with a large blade. You will be fine with a large blade. Trying to impose that on choppers in general ... not so fine.

Have fun!

If the solution for the pro chopper were a larger blade, they would bave used it just when the crappy plastic era began.

Looks like a hardbat. Probably from the 1950s or earlier.

Dear Doren,

Who is going to sell you 180 mm by 180 mm rubbers?

No wonder everyone keeps saying you are alone in the desert .

If pro choppers demanded this kind of measurements, you would see manafacturers following suit

In the days of hardbat, rubber came in a big roll. You went to the drugstore, the shopkeeper would pull out his big roll of British Leyland and cut you off a piece. Or so I've been told.. And of course, you can get sandpaper in any size.

Most definitely hardbat era. Might even be sandpaper. Something like that with sandwich rubber would weigh a ton.
