Hi, yesterday I tested the Viscaria (black tag) with some kind of Hurricane 3 Nittaku and Donic Z1 turbo. I was very surprised by the speed and spin the balls achieved and even more surprised by the ease and naturalness with which I could topspin. You have the feeling that the blade adapts to the way you play the shot My blade is a Matador Texa Carbon with Gewo Proton Neo 450. I have also used Battle 2 Blue Sponge boosted, Andro Rasanter V42 and Andro Rasanter R53. With this equipment I do not have that ease, power, speed and spin that I achieve with my friend's Viscaria. They are going well but light years from the Viscaria. I think the difference is in the blade and not in the rubbers. I wonder how the long pips Dr. Neubauer Desperado Reloaded OX or Tibhar Grass Dtcs will work on that blade, since they are the ones I use. I understand that Manika Batra uses that combination, Viscaria + Tibhar Grass Dtcs OX but, of course, she is a professional. I see myself buying a Viscaria to try and the question is what weight would be appropriate considering that wearing long pips ox lightens the weight considerably. There is a Spanish forum, in which a user sells the original Viscaria for €145 (I think he is also in this forum) and the Timo Boll Spirit for €111, perhaps you do not notice differences between Viscaria and Timo Boll Spirit...What do you think? ? Greetings.

Might be a good combination, you will not know until you try it. If you have the money, go for it!

It would be fantastic for you to use it so you can tell us how easy/ hard it is to block short consistently.
My theory is swings and roundabouts >>> you get great results for inverted, you will be inconsistent with your pips .

Wish you luck!!

I also wonder about this. I hit with club mates Viscarias and they feel very controlled, easily more controlled on the inverted side than my 7 ply wood blades. It is tempting to buy one. Please post your results.

I can block short with Matador Texa Carbon and Donic Carbospeed (Desperado Reloaded OX green & Tibhar Grass Dtcs OX green or black, better with green) but not always (timing, distance, speed, spin...)

I play a viscaria sdc clone with flanti. It's a great combo. Can block very short and low. It's very good for topsspin and blocking with inverted.

Maybe you will need some pips with dampening sponge.

Cheers
