ha ha nice topic name right ?

i succumbed to the temptation of a T-4 to pair as a back up blade for my T-8 for an upcoming tournament.

jkc was the one guy who got me ino it, calling this blade worlds greatest blade.

but after the first days play i felt like charging him $35, since it felt less spiddy and less spinny than my t-8. but wait!!

on second day i hate to admit i made a u-turn on my opinion. and after couple more days i will know for sure if its claim to fame is deserving... or if its just another good blade among many. :)

[unfortunately jkc's other recommendation of lkt rapid sound didn't turn out to be a rapid hit]

I can only recommend things based on the way I play unfortunately. Maybe I should re-phrase my recommendation and say that 'The T-4 with rapid sound is quite clearly the greatest combination ever for someone who plays with exactly my game and style. It may not suit anyone else.'

Did you try the Rapid Sound on the T-4? I can't speak about it's performance on anything else.

I will be putting a vid of me playing with this very combination in a few days (when me and my mate and my camera all turn up at the venue simultaneously) so you may get some ideas as to what it can and cannot do after that.

It would be great to see the exact style that makes your setup so perfect. It's not every day you come by a setup that is perfect -- so I am eager to see it all in action! Hopefully it will be as helpful to me as your service videos have been...

Sorry i lot track of this post.

the T-4 s doing great... with my tenergy FH, and Xiom ZETA max BH. i am around 1600 but consistantly beating 1800s or losing on 5th game, since this combo.

JKC, I don't doubt that rapid sound or any other soft rubber would be a good combination with fast T-4. and any liking ot disliking is relative.

but if you hear me, do try a zeta or platin (i think they play not much different from one another, but zeta is half the price) on your T-4. and you will realize what i mean.

I would love to try some SG effect stuff on my T-4, but I think my wife would moan about the cost.
I'm glad you're not going to send me the bill for the blade anymore anyway.

Be careful before you charge JKC any money, you might be forced to pay my T-8 when I get one following your recommendation

hey man... here are the likes and dislikes between t-4 and t-8

- T-4 i a little slower, a little more flex, and a little but very faint pin sound compared to T-8
- T-4 is better for FH or BH down-the-line shots
- T-4 is slightly easier to play with, due to more hold time
- T-4 is forgiving for imperfect, out of reach shots.

now,
- T-8 is better for on-the-table flicks. more precision, less bouncy
- T-8 is better for tenergy loops that you don't want to be returned. ;)
- T-8 is slightly better in blocks and pushes (being less bouncy) but both are great with blocks
- T-8 is much better in hits
- T-8 is less forgiving than T-4, particulalry when you are playing chinese rubbers or tenergy
- T-8 is significantly more difficult to chop with against loops

:)

At least I know I am not going mad then because from the ratings Galaxy give, you would expect an uncontrollable power machine and not a good control blade which it is possible to chop with.

galaxy's ratings suck... it gives speed rating

T-8 : 10
T-4 : 10.5
K-5 : 10

I played with all 3 and to me it feels:

T-8 : 10
T-4 : 9
K-5 : 7

Tried a Y-4 a while ago and that was a nice controllable blade too. I am yet to find a Galaxy blade which was poor.
