Balsa wood itself is soft but the blade as a whole is not soft.

Very often, the top and bottom sheets are carbo or other hard wood.

As a result, balsa based rackets are light, hard feel with good control. No virbration at all. Someone may view this as bad, without feeling the vibrations.

Though, balsa blases may break easily if not reinforced properly.

I have a Joola Kool in C-pen. Quite fast and light but too thick to hold.

Another BTY Balsa Carbo X5 in handshake which is very good and not too thick as other balsa blades from Dr Neubauer or Hallmark. These won't look natural. Looks like holding a thick pan.

Just looking for a good J-pen with light balsa materials and learnt of BTY Tenper-S with only 8.5mm. I like this thickness as my other Darker J-speed 90 but without the heavier weight with two rubbers on it.

I hope BTY will release the Balsa Carbo X5 in C-pen and J-pen sooner.

Anyone got comments and experience on other good balsa C-pen and J-pen?

Xiom's C-Pen blades (like my Opus Speed) seem to have a balsa core as do Andro's series of C-Pen blades.

I also have a Winning/Komann Blue Tiger that is both fast and under 75 g.

Please tell me when you are ready for the J-pen Off or preferrably Off+. Weight above 60 grams but under 70 grams. I hope it is not too thick.
