Hey Guys,
I am looking for reviews of this blade. Comments on it's feel, weight and power from distance are welcome.
I want to know if it suits Hurricane 3 rubber on forehand.
Thanks in advance.

I don't have an MC-2, otherwise I will be glad to give you some information.

Be patient, hopefully you get some info soon.

Last time I tried one with an LSZ 999 on it, it had medium-soft feel with medium flex, might lack a bit of mid-distance power owing to no speedglue.

I heard that crystalline thing might come off when you remove rubber out of its surface.

Thanks for your comments guys. Still didn't get a real review though. :(
Yuzuki, do you think a heavier MC-2 will have mid distance power?

Well, not exactly -- more of a bouncier rubber is needed. Perhaps if you tuned your rubber once (so the sponge becomes a bit more dynamic and less stiff) or get one of the newer Chinese rubbers (H3 Neo comes into mind), it could work.

I tuned a Skyline once, it was nice. Sadly, the sponge became stiff again when the tuning wore off, but there's still some mid-distance power left.

Thanks Yuzuki. I got my MC2 today and I'm gonna put a H3 neo on it to see how it plays.

Sorry saif, I have not tried it either, although I've held it in my hand and bounced a ball on it

Hopefully you can let us know how it plays.

I'd love to haggisv.

By the way I also bounced a ball on it. Feels medium fast and vibrates a lot which usually means good flex. Mine is 89 gm.
I'll be playing with it on Thursday.

Sounds good! Yes I agree it feels like quite a flexible blade.

Ok, I played with my MC-2 for 2 days now. Here's my review-

First of all I am a beginner-intermediate player with a two wing looping style game.I can perform almost all shots but not consistent enough yet. My setup was MC-2+ H3 Neo on fh+ Palio cj8000 36-38 deg on bh.

Finishing and craftsmanship of this blade is quite good. Slightly head heavy as FL handle is little thinner but doesn't bother me much. First thing I noticed that it is an medium fast blade, maybe lower off- range. Close to the table play is very good and well controlled. I found it ridiculously easy to return serves with. Pushes are easy to perform. I think it will suit a beginner really well with all that control. With H3 neo it 's got super high throw which I have to adjust by changing my stroke timing and bat angle.

I agree with Yuzuki that mid distant looping doesn't work well with this bat, not enough power. It's got a hollow feel when hitting hard which does feel odd. If you are a looper you will feel it's flex is working for you upto a certain distance. Smash is Ok, nothing special.

So, in brief
Pros- Good control, balanced and near table looping works fine. Close to table trickery and service returns are great.
Cons- Lack of power, the feeling is not there sometimes. Another thing is that the glossy surface of MC-2 gave me a lot of troubles to stick a rubber on it.

Please bear in mind that both my rubbers are pretty new and still very tacky at the moment. So the actual speed of the blade may be a little faster.

Thanks
Saif

Excellent review.

It's usually the stiffness which makes it feel a bit odd at the mid-distance -- it's as if the wood does not 'trampoline' appropriately to your given effort.

Might have to play other types of rubbers to get a trampoline effect for mid-distance; compromises have to be made. :)

I would personally like Venus and Cream Transcend, but it's really more of your preference in play here... :)

I have played with MC-2 a while now. As I said, it seems faster now when rubbers "break in". One thing I didn't yet adjusted to is it's high throw. This is the most highest throw setup I've ever played with.
