Hi guys, so I have decided to do a review of this great rubber because it really is a great rubber  . I have gotten a lot of help ever since I joined the forum and although I don't contribute to the discussions as much as other people (because I'm often too lazy to type), I'm here reading the threads everyday. So, I kinda feel in debt with people that have helped me, but I haven't returned the favour. I thought of making this review, and maybe help those ones that are looking for a perfect rubber that suits their game. Enjoy.

The reviewer: I'm not actually rated because I don't play any tournaments, because I simply cannot play at the time they are held (they are held at night and on Sundays). However, judging from my previous results from playing games with rated players, I would say I'm 1600-1800. I have beaten players as high as 2000. Also, I'd say that my skill set is higher than 1600-1800, but due to my limited experience in playing games I would say I'm 1600-1800. My style is 2-wing-looper (chinese style loop - coached by a chinese coach, which used to be in the provincial team in China), although my FH loop is much more stronger than my BH loop. I'm still working on my BH loop.

Blade used: I used the BT550 first but I didn't like how the Sterco played on it. Then, I used it on the Wavestone and I loved it there, and this is my setup now.

Physical Properties: I'm using RED in my FH. It's completely non-tacky, but extremely grippy. 2.2mm sponge. Quality: it looks pretty good. Pretty light weight.

Reference: In the next sections, I'm going to be comparing Sterco to other rubbers I have used in the past on the Wavestone, to give you guys a better idea about what Sterco is all about:

Speed:
in slow strokes: Sterco > G2FX > 729CreamTranscend
in drive loops: Sterco > 729CreamTranscend > G2FX
in smash: to be honest, smashing is not part of my game. I loop everything, even high balls.

Spin:
in loops: 729CreamTranscend > Sterco > G2FX
in serves and pushes: 729CreamTranscend > Sterco > G2FX
I think I just need to use the Sterco longer... and I will eventually feel 100% comfortable with and I will get more spin than with the 729CreamTrascend (btw, I used the 729CreamTrascend for 6 months).

Control:
Well, to be honest I love the control of this rubber (even with a carbon blade such as Wavestone). But, I don't think anyone can use it, simply because it's fast. Loop placement is pretty good. In pushes... it's a little bit hard to keep them short, since the rubber is fast. I don't really block that much in my FH, so I can't comment here.
Control: G2FX > 729CreamTranscend > Sterco

Other Playing properties:
Loops have a pretty low throw angle. Sensitive to incoming spin? Not much in my opinion.

Other comments: I highly recommend the Sterco to loopers. It only costs me $32.

Blade: Trinity Carbon
FH: Victas VS > 401
BH: Dr N Troublemaker OX
Great review, thanks pipigrande!

I think it makes sense that such a soft rubber will work better on a harder blade, so i'm not surprised to hear you like it a lot better on the wavestone.

How much faster is it than an unglued G2FX? And does is have the same mushy feeling?

Sterco is much faster than G2FX. And as Alex pointed out, I'm using a hard blade (Wavestone) so I actually didn't feel the 'mushiness' of the G2FX, and not feeling it with the Sterco either. But maybe you will feel it if you use a pretty soft blade.

More like a German sponge under a Japanese topsheet. Well, that's my impression.

Rather not mushy because the rebound is pretty fast -- really high tension stuff.
