Last question Haggisv, what's the thickness of your current rubber ?
I hesitate between 1.8 or 2.0

Take care,

I always use max... not sure what thickness that is for this rubber. I doubt 2.0mm would be much different for this rubber.

I finally used the rubber in competition, after a long break of being sick.

The rubber performed really well... I won all my games :rock: :rock: :rock: I discovered a few more things about;

Although the throw is quite high, loops come off a little lower but spinnier compared to Thor's.

We had quite humid conditions last night... took several minutes for my rubber to dry after cleaning... I had no trouble with humidity at all.

Short game with this rubber is really good...on soft contact it still has that dead feel, allowing you put put it short with heave backspin.

Heavy backspin is a little harder to lift compared to Thor's. To lift heavy backspin I tend to brush the ball more, so the sponge does not engage as much, and the topsheet is not that fast, which is why I think it takes more effort. When I do get it on, it's got massive spin on there...I had one ball just skid on the table.

999Turbo is also a little more sensitive to spin on high impact compared to Thor's, but no worse than any other 999 sheet. Trying to counter-loop a loop is hard, as the rubber really grip the ball, so you need to come right over the ball.

Blocking loops with this rubber is working quite well... I'm not sure if my technique has improved, but I seem to find it easier to take the pace off the ball, and block it short.

I've ordered the Juic.
How would you briefly compare the Juic 999 Turbo vs Venus II ?

Can't remember if I've even tried the Venus II. I liked the venus quite a bit, but it's not that fast. I'd expect the Venus II to be faster, but not as spinny if it's a tuned version of the Venus.

oh Haggisv you're a serial tester :
viewtopic.php?f=44&t=13178&start=15

This is a review of the Venus 2. (look similar to Xushaofa 999 LSZ)
It's seems to have not staying too much on your FH.

   That's less than a year ago too!

Since I can't even remember my own reviews, I should go back and test them again, see if I come to the same conclusions

Is there speed glue encorperation or is the rubber just quicker? I have been playing great with 999 Natty here lately but could use a little added speed. I slightly tune the Natty. Would the Turbo be a good replacement? Also is the performance holding up well?

Haggis?

I can't feel any speed glue effect, so I feel the sponge is just faster.

After using it for about 3 weeks now, I like it even better. As I mentioned the sheet came with just paper protection sheets, but since I've been using the plastic protection sheet, I feel it's gained a little tack.. and a little tack is just the way I like it, as it makes to easier to add spin on my serves.

The only draw back of this rubber, and it's the same for all the 999 sheets, is that it's quite sensitive to spin is you try and counter-loop close-in, or you try and block topspin aggressively.... the ball really digs in for this, so you need to come right over the ball.

Blocking passively with the rubber seems to actually work better than other 999 sheets... it still takes the pace off well enough so that I can block short, and I feel I have good control. Putting heavy spin on serves or returns is just so easy, which wins me a lot of points.

I'm very happy with this rubber now, and have changed over from Thor's (for now  ).

Eh eh ... the 999 again for Hagggisv.
I just received my Juic 999 Turbo.
I will try on a CWX blade with Octopus for the summer... and then will try on my Kong Linghui FL.
Will post soon.

Cheers !

I am highly considering this rubber for the forehand side. I have always really enjoyed the 999 series rubbers in general. I also appreciate the duration that these rubbers withstand. The 999 sheets last a long time. A great sponge under a quality 999 sheet is my idea of a great rubber. I look forward to hearing your thoughts as well Brahms!

Finally I will not give back the Joola CWX / Octopus, so I will directly try the Juic 999 next week normaly with KL blade.
Hope it will meet my expectations and increase the Juic sales

Cheers all,

Ps : small test with Mars II tomorrow (not tacky at all... 33°...to be follow...)

I'm currently in a training camp in Nantes in the west of France.
My Globe 999 National is dead with 2 bubbles on it
So no worries I still have the Juic in my luggages.

I have played with it during 6h today.
I like it cause the weight is really much lighter compare with the 999 nat.
The quality of the topsheet is top notch. The sponge is japanese for me but nothing special

The speed is a little bit faster but not much compare with 999 chn or nat unglued.
This topsheet is similar with a nano with a higher tack.

This rubber is for me very pleasant and so far I'm not disoriented.
You need a chinese technique with a physical involvment to get the best of the Juic
