Blade: Custom
FH: Andro Impuls
BH: Andro Hexer HD
Summary: Need rubbers for very fast blade

I bought a blade from a guy who makes custom blades. He gave me Andro Impul on FH and Andro Hexer HD on BH. I think the blade is very fast.

I do a lot of spinny servers as well as close to the table deep chops and chop blocks.
FH attack is mostly flat. I am trying to improve my loops
BH attack was not strong. I am trying to work on improving BH drive and loops.
I do a lot of placement both near and far from the table as well as moving around the table.
I am also good at defense, close to the table, blocks.

---

I need some recommendations on upgrading the rubbers. I think the key is the blade is very fast. I don't plan to change the blade for now.

I was hoping to amp up my spins and chops and continue improving my FH and BH loops.

I've seen some of the spinny rubbers, like Donic Barracuda are not good for blocks. Nittaku G1 seems like a good option, but I am scared it will be too fast.

Thanks,
Nilan

Blade: Lilypad Blade #0033
FH: DHS HIII
BH: Dignics 05
I make my own (and sell some on Etsy), and I have had that problem with some of my first few, especially if spruce directly under the top ply, or if the core is a bit too thick. When I started using DHS HIII (blue), and Dignics 09c, (forehand and backhand respectively), I found that I had much more control, especially in the in-out direction of play due to the tackiness, and density of the rubber(s). I actually switch blades up every 3-4 months to test newer blade builds, and this setup is nice, not only for control and play quality, but because of these rubber's physical quality as well (i.e. they last a long time with care, and are easily removed for re-gluing to test new blades; Falco Long is a blessing is this regard as well) These are quality rubbers, so the cost is pretty nasty, especially on Butterfly's part, but don't go for the National HIII; its ungodly expensive (I've bought it and have it on two separate blades). The Provencial version is more than adequate, and can always be livened up if needed with a bit 'long term' booster.
This is actually FZD's setup on his version of the Viscaria; his shots nearly always seem to hit where he wants them too...

How long have you played with it? I’ve played with Hexer HD on BH. Certainly more than good enough. No need to upgrade. I haven’t tried the Impuls, but looking briefly seems like it’s worse than Hexer. I would stay with your setup and flip it over for a week or so. See how you like them. If, there’s a need to change, I would change the Impuls to Rasanter if you want to stay with Andro’s line. Other than that, work on the strokes no need to change equipment for quite a long time.

Yes I agree, The rubbers that you're currently using are already relatively fast (at least when they were new). Something like Baracuda will be slower than both of them.

Those rubbers aren't as fast as some of the newer ones. I'd say they are only medium speed. Faster than chinese but slower than modern tensors. Impuls is fairly controllable, you could try it on both sides, it is soft so it holds the ball longer than most others. Baracuda or any normal tensor will give you the same problems, will be too fast. You could try a chinese rubber like 729 fx. Just nothing with a hard sponge.

I've had the rubbers for 1 year and 4 months. I think they are overdue for a change

Not sure whether I should get a mainstream rubber which is fast like Victas V15, Nittaku G1, Dignics, Tenergy, because blade is already fast
also wondering whether I should get a spinnier rubber

I doubt that the rubbers need changing, especially the Hexer HD. It's a very durable rubber.

But, if you want to change, I would advice against Tenergy, Dignics and the likes.

G1 is popular and not too costly.

The Hexer seems OK. Impuls seems worn out.

Why do you advice against Tenergy, Dignics :)

Too expensive and sounds like currently you won’t get maximum value of the rubber. So it’s kind of a waste of money. Maybe in the future.

Actually Rakza 7 (and by extension Baracuda, which is supposed to be similar but which I have not tried) are actually quite fast compared to the plethora of hard Chinese $5 sheets like 729, Yinhe9000 and Corbor, which is what I'd recommend trying. Nice thing about these sheets is if you don't like them, you're only out $5 (plus shipping, if the shipping wasn't free). If you want to try something REALLY S-L-O-W, try "Chinese Bluefire", a.k.a. Reactor Ckylin. It's unuseable for most people on regular blades, but who knows with a super duper fast blade. If you ARE using a super duper fast blade full time, I'd consider switching... these things aren't ideal for most people and will hurt the development of your game.

^ correct. It will hurt the development of your game. Ask the person who sold you the original setup for a beginner bat. You will get much better much more quickly. Sticking with that setup will only get you frustrated. You can start using it again when you are playing high level premier division.

By the time he gets to the premier level top division he'll know enough not to go back to that blade.. None of the top players use the OFF++ blades beginners seem to be attracted to..

Not sure which comment you are referring to.

What are some examples of beginner bat?
