Does anyone know a similar "new" alternative to this rubber.
The 2.0mm version is hard to find these days so, looking for an modern alternative.

Preferably something that sounds(clicks) as good

Any of the moderately hard Tensors should be similar enough that it makes no difference. Look for something with 47.5 degree sponge. They're all made in the same factory anyway.

Joola Xplode. Clickiest I've tried yet.

Look for the earlier generation "tensors" with tight topsheets and medium sponge.

Can't say I've ever figured out what this "click" business is about. Nor am I convinced that everyone who mentions the "click" is talking about the same thing.

If you've ever tried a soft Tensor, you'd know what the click refers to... it's quite obvious.

Wouldn't Rakza 7 count? I didn't notice it making any sound that was different compared to anything else.

Rakza 7 does have that feeling (Rakza 7 soft more), but not as much as soft Tensors. Also on a soft blade it's much less noticeable, and the feel wears off somewhat over time.

Is the click a feel, or is it a SOUND. I've heard "sound" a lot. Rakza 7/9/X IS a Tensor - it's made in Germany.

I can agree that the Rakza7 ( not the soft ) gets more Control + Spin over time, and the speed does reduce compared to when new ( not that much reduction ).

What I have noticed is that Xiom rubbers produce that "click" sound much more noticeably, you just have to brush the ball with firm but thin contact ...

Also Rakza7 can be "made" to click, though the sound will be muted ... you have to use 3-glue layers on the rubber and 2-glue layers on the blade at least more layers means more chance of getting that "click" sound .... ... go figure ... I have NO IDEA why this is so

Of course, YMMV, as I am telling from only my experience with these rubbers If more people can corroborate or find similar behaviour and share it we will know more

With the view to ensure all the sandwich rubbers on retail market being compliant with all ITTF standards, we suggest a new specific provision into the T4 Leaflet, as follows
■ The sponge intended for use with a topsheet of one modell, may only differ in colour and thickness.
■ If manufacturer wishes to market the same topsheet with a sponge or sponges of another type, having different density, hardness, material etc., the approval fees will be charged separately for each new sponge, and the topsheet must be moulded with a new modell name ...

For example:

This is some exemplary products by ANDRO manufacturer to give you a clear idea of what we now intend for all sandwich rubbers on market.
-- The same outer topsheet is applied for every rubber modell, indexed with 037; 039; 041; 042.
-- sponge layer comes of 4 different types, with different hardness degree of 37º 42º 47º 50º respectively.
While formed of same material and same pimples pattern, each of the four topsheets is moulded with a different Modell Name to clearly indicate a different sponge underneath. This is our general designation for all sandwich rubbers on retail market.
TAKE A NOTE : ITTF total income from approval fees should rise by 30-40%, as soon as all the China mnfcs having been impelled to follow ITTF Rules.
