Has twice coached Olympic team, but never played. Wants to do it before he gets too old.

I have never before seen Seemiller play, I didn't see any examples of his unique grip in that video. I will look for action of him playing on Youtube......i want to see that grip in action!

Good on Danny. I will certainly be rooting for him.

I am prejudiced, but hope he does make it. I have known him since he was a kid and as I recall, I, or my TT supply and blade building concern, was his and brother Ricky's first sponsor.

Here's the pairings at today's Men's Olympic Qualifier event. Seemiller plays Shahnazari.

Seemiller beat Raghu -3, -8, 4, -4, -9, so he's in the final eight of the qualifying tournament. Next opponent is Razvan Cretu.

Brian Pace won his first match 4-3, lost 0-4 in his second match. No I'm not there. All the results so far are here.

To be honest, would you really like to have a 57 year old represent the US at the olympics? That would not be good advertisement for US table tennis.

Bummer. Cretu also knocked off Brian Pace in 7 at the US Nationals in Dec 2011:
