Being in this age group, I can attest what a great sport this is for players 9 to 90, even if the mainstream media feels compelled to mention Forrest Gump and Susan Sarandon in every story. :^)

By the way, note the little image in the browser tab of this newspaper (the Edmonton Journal). lol

Nice post MNNB!

You sure do find interesting stuff!

Nice for me to see that this is a Canadian group. We need the TT exposure up here!

nearly 4 years ago we started with our 55+ groups. They play two times a week during the morning hours. At this moment we have about 30 people participating and they are really fanatic as their sessions are held every week for the whole year (OK Christmas day might be an exception) They also plan some small tournaments with other 55+ groups in different cities. Of course tournaments and more for fun and a nice day out.
The nice thing is that we there are a lot of new 'talents' which only discover this sport at their 60's 70's.

Here is a link to our website, unfortunately it's in dutch but at least there is a picture on it:
http://www.ttvseta.nl/index.php/trainin ... afeltennis
Note that two of these 4 guys are above 80 now and still playing without any problems

So definitely tabletennis is a nice sport you can play on your old age, with the big advantage that you very rarely will end up with an injury.
If you have questions on how we set this up, please send me a PM.

Cheers.
