Chinese Team's head coach LIU GUOLIANG is one with the majority of the table tennis community to think that the new ball has greatly impaired the rotation. Therefore, he sees this as a potential hazard to their playing style.

The ITTF has an agreement to use DHS balls for two years. DHS only makes a two-piece ball so I'm sure that's the one he's referring to.
