Blade: homemade
FH: 729FX SuperSoft
BH: 729FX SuperSoft
Model name: Violin Clone
Structure: WhiteAsh - WhiteAsh - kiri - WhiteAsh - WhiteAsh
Headsize: ~156 x 151 mm
Tickness: ~5.3mm
Weight/Speed: 87g/1140Hz

This is a pre-pandemic build made for a user that never replied once blade was ready. The blade is hard, not very fast with good control and has some catapult when hit hard.
Handle is straight flat section (not round) featuring a metal badge. Blade is sealed with acrylic finish.

Another pre-pandemic build that I have made to see how the layer structure could be. The result is fast, quite hard but somehow elastic due to the Koto outer.
Flare handle, but with a flat section as you can see in the picture. Also the handle features a metal badge.

The 3rd pre-pandemic build, made to investigate hard woods. This is hard, control-ish and not as fast as expected. And heavy.
Features a flared handle with no badge.

This ply has an elastic and soft feel. Also the classical vibration of european spruce wood is still present.
Note: the outer ply is jointed ply, not one piece.

This blade is more of a case study and it was made based on the original idea I had during pandemic: "How would it be if baldes would be made only from local woods, not mixes of african-european-asian woods". The combination above was made based on 2 typical chinese native wood: bamboo and paulownia. Result is a bit unexpected: medium hard, stiff and not fast.
Anyway, bamboo has potential, but must be further experimented with.

Weight/Speed: 76.3g/1421Hz

A thin carbon blade with a soft-ish outer layer. The outer layer is thin DouglasFir (pseudotsuga menziesii), also named Oregon Pine or Red Pine acording to Wikipedia. It is the closest non-asian wood to the japanese Hinoki.
This blade is also one ply that I am very happy with. The bare wood seems to have a bit of everything: it's soft-ish, it's spin-ish, it feels woody, has bounce (but not too much) and has some kick when hit hard.

As expected, this is a hard due to the wenge veneer and has vibration due to the spruce inner core. Also feels woody and has a low bounce to it. Should be a good blade to cut balls.

The core of this blade is placed horizontal, so it does not provide any stiffness to the blade and the outer layers are 1.4mm Spruce. The purpose was to obtain a blade that stops the ball when playing defensive and provide a wooden feel. The result is the lowest bounce of all blades that I built until now.

Another experiment made during this pandemic. Contains only african woods and it was meant to be something trully all-around. And the result is not very far.

This is a blade with the same layer structure like Andro Ligna CO-Off, but without those nice monobloc curved handles. This ply has all the capabilities to be a killer.

Another 2 blades, 5 layer structture withe wenge outer layer. The ply structure is similar to Butterfly Hadraw VR or Stiga Nostalgic Offensive, but built lighter and softer. On my version I used spruce (not pine) for the second layer and kiri (not ayous) for the core. This way, the blade is a bit more bouncy, has more control and is lighter while still having the typicall wenge feel.

This is an evolution of the 1st blade that I have ever made.
That original prototype was made with mahogany out ply and balsa core, reinforced with fiberglass. It proved usable and provided nice feel. But this in an evolution of that recipe, hence the Mk2 in the name. Still uses mahogany outer ply, but 0.6mm (decreased from 0.9mm) and a much thinner fiberglass layer. Probably the thinner ever available, 0.05 mm thin.

Model name: Original Mk2
Structure: Mahogany - fiberglass - Mahogany - balsa(4mm) - Mahogany - fiberglass - Mahogany
Headsize: ~157x150
Tickness: ~6.5mm
