Among other things decided last night, in the light of state"competition level" fees rising to $90, our local association is writing a letter saying that our players who only play in our comp but do not play tournaments (apart from our championships) or veterans or represent the state will pay $60 for this pleasure.

Remember that it was $70 this year for the same level but with tournaments etc thrown in.

It will be interesting to see what reaction we get.

...$90... for a 'state competition' level of fees? and with people currently not happy with the current breakdown? Wow. That is a lot of cash for what is essentially a metro based endeavour, say goodbye to a lot of the country players, excluding the die hards, in any kind of sanctioned state level tournament. Not to mention that your club being made to pay that higher level of fees due to location and what is essentially an arbitrary decision from the state, meaning they feel the "we float the NSWTT single handedly" more keenly.. just... wow....

Things like NSW country association champs in Gosford, which would require this level of payment, could feel the hurt. Essentially for 2 days of TT for me to go to Gosford would be $90 of state fee, $120 fuel, $400 accommodation, $200 food plus any incidentals of lets say $100... that is a lot of cash for a weekend playing TT $900ish OzPeso... yeah nah, that's not good value for money at all, I mean even at a cheaper state fee that's not good value really.

I'll be interested in the state body's response to you letter. I assume it will be along the lines of "you can't blah blah blah noise about why you just need to pay it".
