Hello, some time ago I wrote a topic about table tennis and stress that occurs in the game and how to deal with it. The topic is in Polish https://infomiasto.eu/stres-w-tenisie-s ... o-pokonac/

In short, very similar methods as in fencing, for example, humming melody during a fight or even playing music. Breaks or breaths and attempts to calm down roganism.

What solutions do you have when you get stressed during the game? Let me create even better content.

I saw Fukuhara Ai studying a book, a big one, might've been poetry or something of the sort, before her turn to play.

What's "roganism"?

Maybe just say that to yourself when you are nervous. "Calm down organism." Like a mantra. Take your mind off the stress.

Stress never goes away. It remains at different levels. The idea should be to use it "positively". Any public or result-oriented performance is going to induce "stress". The problem I think is "chronic" and "uncontrolled" conditions.

Put yourself in "artificial" stressor conditions when practicing and try to come up with ways to deal with it.

talking to one of the top local players, he says he has been taught that there are two methods:
(1) take your mind away from the stress totally, by thinking about something pleasant - for example, the smell of coffee, or a really nice meal you had
(2) use a set routine to "start again" - for example wiping your hand on the table just before your opponent serves, or taking a towel break. Familiarity with a routine helps destress.

He uses (2), and I would agree with this - if my mind starts wandering during a match, it just never comes back!

Yeah routine would reduce the amount of stress you have.

You are stressed because you want to win... I take it one point at a time and do not mind the score..

Eating chocolate do help too..
