I was thinking how the team formats are played?

Here we have teams me maximum 5 people.
Only 3 people can play singles, so basically 3 on 3 equal nine single games and we play 2 doubles, so a total of 11 games or rubber.
Best of 5 sets up to 11 points.
We play home and away matches so home team supply the balls and a member of there team will umpire the first match. Second match then a member of ours umpires.

All results are recorded and handed in or sent to the organisor.

How about everyone?

Absolutely the same format here MM, except we all play in the same venue. No travel and much more social atmosphere when you are not actually playing.
Most of our teams are however made up of just 3 players who then form 2 pairs of doubles teams. We start @ 7:30pm and try to wrap up by 11pm.

We also have an express 2 person comp ( Masters) on another night of the week which has 2 players i.e 4 singles & 1 doubles but games are best of seven, usually all over in a couple of hours.

Exactly the same for me too, the only difference is we have 1 doubles game therefore it is out of 10. Every club starts at different times therefore before the match day comes they have to call and tell us. Errm another thing is, we all get a small Blue book which contains our match dates, previous stats, previous rankings and RULES. There is also information about all the clubs that are participating in the leauge, the info is basically where they are based contact info and a few sentences about themselves.

We don't have leagues around here. All I have to compete in is tourneys. I am signed up for 2 in march and will do probably 7 to 10 this year. It can get kinda expensive with hotels and other things. I always take the family with me. Almost like a mini vacation. My wife can't watch cause she gets too nervous for me.

Any chance You live by near tat?

Unfortunately, no. California is a huge state. I'm guessing it would take at least 12 hours to drive down to his house, especially accounting for the Los Angeles traffic which, unfortunately, I have to drive through the entirety of to get down to San Diego. Not a fun drive. Ask Hookshot.

That's cute! :D

Mike, glad the move is over for you and you are in TT territory now. I knew you liked the game, but moving thousands of miles just so you can play?...that's dedication!!

Our interclub runs summer and winter are we are halfway through the summer competition as of Wednesday night. My team is not doing so well this season as we won it last summer but our top player is away having a baby and we are short on top fill ins.

As for tournaments this year the New Zealand Veterans in in my home town Christchurch, so that will be big maybe 100 teams from NZ and Australia, I hope to make the top 50 team for Canterbury. I will also play the NZ open, south Island Open plus 3 other out of town tournaments. Plus Canterbury runs about 5 of their own events I normally play them all. Last year was my first year in 50's and did pick up a number of titles. So hope this year is even better.

Any Aussies come to NZ Vets, remember I have spare beds.

I did hear that Greg Letts if either 40 this year or next maybe the Greg choppers could play doubles? Or any overseas players who are coming?

Gregg
