Ah, figures. Looks like Mac will swallow anything. Even Fox "News", where they rail against the vaccine but are ALL VACCINATED ON PAIN OF TERMINATION by Fox News company policy. Even Tucker "The Nut" Carlson. THEY don't believe the stuff they spout, it's all for the ratings. Meanwhile the right winger sheep lap it all up.

Unfortunately behind every nutter conspiracy there is a sandgrain of truth.

Double / triple / quadruple / ... jabs do not stop you getting covid.

Double / triple / quadruple / ... jabs do not stop you passing on covid.

Double / triple / quadruple / ... jabs do not stop you being hospitalised by covid.

Double / triple / quadruple / ... jabs do not stop you being put in ICU by covid.

Double / triple / quadruple / ... jabs do not stop you being put on a ventilator by covid.

But they do lessen the odds for all of these things happening.

There are no long term studies of the effects of being jabbed twice / three times / four times / ... with something that causes your cells to produce the same "spike" proteins that covid uses.

Some medical people have admitted to using scare tactics to make people decide to get vaccinated against covid. Does the end justify the means?

That's a gross understatement. The ICUs are filled with the unvaccinated. Just because one or two vaccinated people are in there as well (mainly those who are very old or have co-morbidities) doesn't change this.



Well, yeah, that's how mRNA vaccines work. And they're the ones that work the best.

As I observe the discourse:
Vaccine promoters generally ...

• Base their arguments on scientific material
  
  • Peer reviewed science reports (hefty reads, mostly)
  • statistics (the significance of large numbers is not easily grasped, and the individual fates are hidden and do not touch us)
• Cite reputable sources (state/medical/scientific authorities)
• Encourage community spirit, "let us work together to solve this".

Vaccine skeptics generally ...

• Base their arguments on emotional material,
  
  • individual/personal accounts, (easy to relate to on a personal level)
  • Rituals (song, chanting)
  • Threats (medical personnel, politicians, and individuals such as myself, receive personal threats to life and wellbeing)
• Use anonymous "whistleblowers", cherrypicked facts and dubious/peer-rejected/withdrawn scientific reports
• Use circular references: If a statement comes from a "hostile entity", it is less credible. If an entity disagrees with "us", it is hostile.
• Encourage a divisive attitude, it is "us and them".

Of course, these are not absolutes.

• There are the authorities in Austria using the threat of fines amounting to an average monthly salary, and there are covid vaccine skeptics pointing out that we do not know long term side effects of the vaccines.
• The Covid-19 disease is also not an absolute. Individuals react differently, and the virus changes over time.
• Neither are the vaccines absolute. They do train our body to respond better, so we are less vulnerable to symptoms and less infectious. They do not make us invincible.
  This brings about another trend: the vaccine skeptics tend to be more focused on a requirement that we must have 100% protection and zero negative side effects, while the vaccine adopters accept a graded and to some degree uncertain efficacy.

I submit that the general tendency is clear. Vaccine promoting entities are community building and inclusive. Vaccine rejecting entities are divisive, and in some cases borderline fascist. I have heard claims that the whistleblowers need to be anonymous to avoid prosecution and threats. I have never seen reports of threats or prosecution towards them. Reports of threats (yes even death threats) towards vaccine supporters are easy to find. (Yes, I have received a death threat myself, and I am not a health worker.)
