I just saw this page and I'm in a bit of a shock. I didn't know him, but it still touches me.
I don't really know how to express myself in English so I'll just stick to rest in peace.

I didn't know him either, but it appears that being on the same forum connects people. RIP, Metal Monkey! :(

My goodness. I never visited this 'Announcements' section so have totally missed this piece of devastating news. I have personally met up with Monkey quite a few times. Had a few good hits with him. Yes, he is a very good player. More importantly, ever so helpful with all the useful information to help us improve our game. And as Rok said above, we had a meal together at Bondi when Rok was visiting. I am at least very glad to have actually met, played and dined with Monkey. His passing is so very sad to hear. My deepest condolences to his family.

Oh so sorry Choi. I thought someone would have told you up there. So sad for you to find out this way only now ;(

I just received the email from Choi.

I'm speechless.

Absolutely gobsmacked.

Chris was one of the nicest guys I've ever known. He showed me the TT scene in Sydney, even had a hit with me several times though my standards weren't anywhere close to his at the beginning. He introduced me to LP and chopping in November/December 2008. He'd SMS me once in a while to see how I was doing. I regret that I wasn't in contact with him as often in the past 2 years, and I'm immensely sorry not to have spoken to him before his passing.

Chris, your memory lives on for many of us. I will always remember my humble beginnings as a chopper and the day I practised chopping using LP with you for the very first time at Kensington back in late 2008. Rest in peace my friend.

I totally agree with fattchoi, I remember when he came to visit us at Maroubra Seals Club, I recall how enjoyable it was just to watch his faultless technique, very sad to hear of his passing, especially at such a young age, condolences to his family..

Yes I loved his experimentation and learning ability, RIP.
I just noticed the "in memory of" on the top right of this forum, thanks Haggisv and the mods

It's been 12 years.

All of us have moved on in life.

But whenever I see or play TT, I still think of Chris (Metal Monkey).
