Perforated poly always. Sweat, ya know.

We talk about blade and rubber EJs, are there clothing EJs? What's your favorite brand of shirts for sports? I find Adidas shirts to be very comfortable and durable, wash after wash. Especially their ClimaCool shirts with the tiny perforated holes, definitely works wonders for wicking sweat away. Puma too. I've gotten so used to poly, that's all I ever wear now. Even to work. My coworkers call me the "swish swish" pants guy because of the sound track pants make when walking...

I prefer the clima-cool kind of fabric, which I think is polyester. For playing I find they are the most comfortable with regards to the fabric.

I prefer poly but have some problems with statics (or whatever it is called in english when you get electric and the shirt get stuck too close to your body). This becomes a problem when serving, the ball gets kinda stucked in my hand so when I am tossing it up it won't go as high as I expect. Anybody has a solution for this problem, except for washing the shirt with softening?

No cotton anywhere, including undergarments and socks. There's a wealth of high tech wicking poly-based fabrics that are superior to cotton for sports use. Underarmour has an extensive line of such clothes. My favorite is their Mesh Skull Cap which is better than any headband for controlling sweat that would otherwise get in your eyes.

Definitely not cotton. Anything that's light and moisture wicking. I prefer Adidas, Nike and Under Armour, but there are other companies that also make good, slightly cheaper options, like Russell Athletic, Tek Gear and Champion.

Polyester Microfibre. (like Climacool.)

There are heaps of decent quality sports shirts like this at K-Mart, and some at Lowes. Although Lowes has some lower quality ones, too. They feel a bit rougher.

Cotton absorbs sweat, becomes heavy and sticks to your body.

If you're looking for inexpensive options, Kohl's Department Stores and kohls.com have a lot of good options too.

I went through an "advanced fiber" phase but found that "moisture wicking" is a fancy way of saying that it will break your body's ability to temperature regulate.

Just Look at how sweat works - it sits on your skin and moves heat away more efficiently than air. If you are like me (a heavy sweater) and you wear polyfibermicrochemicalshirts you may find that you OVERHEAT (because the sweat is removed from your skin before it can function).

I've gone back to cotton. I'd rather be soaked through and change my shirt after the matches than choke through the feelings of heat exhaustion.

So YOU'RE the guy who leaves sweat all over the table...

Another vote for cotton.
After I tried Adidas climacool and Nike dry fit, I switched back to cotton. When I wear polyester I feel like in a plastic bag and my sweat is smelling bad. Not so when I wear cotton, try to find a thin tshirt made from cotton or a perforated one and you'll see the difference.

Definitely polyester, mostly Donic shirts as our club's outfit.

I can't stand playing in a heavy, wet, soggy shirt. Gotta be the moisture wicking, and I don't feel overheated as a result. On nights like last night at the club (80s and humid, no a/c on) the moisture wicking shirts can't even keep up. I can't imagine how nasty a pure cotton shirt would be.
