I've been thinking about shoes. What is everyone using these days?

Looking at two models
Asics Gel Sensei 2 - These are actually volleyball shoes. Better cushioning, but I don't think it's as good for tabletennis movement.
Mizuno Wave Medal - anyone tried these? Or other Mizunos?

Using Mizuno Wave Smash S1. It's for badminton, but it doesn't have the usual cushy feeling of indoor court shoes.

So far, I like them because they're durable and fit my (sorta wide) feet well, unlike Asics or Yonex shoes.

I haven't tried Stiga or DHS shoes, but I don't think I'll be changing brands soon; given that I'm completely satisfied with what I have right now.

But without the soccer profile.
They're not too heavy and tight, also alot more stable than your regular tabletennis shoes. 1 thing that you might either love or hate is that they're stiffer than tabletennis shoes.

Gum sole?

I'll probably hate it, (Stiff shoes)

indoor soccer shoes, i find are very nice for tt. stuff like nike total 90's or puma ones. the soles dont take long to break in but once there in its very comfortable.

imo i think any shoe with a decent amount of grip on the surface your playing on and your comfortable in them while playing is good enough... heck my cousin plays in jordans!!!!!

I also have to use high-top basketball shoes. I have pretty weak ankles that turn very easily, and one time I turned an ankle playing t.t. and had to go to the emergency room. Thankfully, nothing was broken, but it was pretty black and blue for a while. From that point on, it's high-tops only for me, and no problems since then. :)

These little beauties :

Talking to a top English coach, he said using normal trainers was VERY bad for you. He went to a seminar with a physiotherapist and basically he said that if you have too high a back you can do irreparable Achilles tendon damage.

Too high a back? You mean the heels are far from the ground?

No no, I mean the part that comes up the back of your heel.

I've heard it called a back-stay and a heel-supporter.

Silver, what's wrong with your Yonex ? I believe we are having the same type of shoes even though we did not make an agreement before we bought it :)
I heard that indoor sport shoes should not be used outside, meaning that we have to wear different shoes on the way to the gym. When we are inside then we can wear it. I heard it has something to do with losing its grippiness because of sand outside.
BTW who is that on your avatar ?

I usually wear Samba's (indoor soccer shoes) they feel just as nice as TT shoes to me, and they're easier to find.
