Hi All,

When I hold the racket the usual shakehand way, I experience pain at the side of the lower part of my middle finger (marked in red in the picture attached). I've sanded down the edges of the wings of the blade already so it's more like a dull pressure pain from weight rather than sharp pain from unsanded edges. My current equipment is Zhang Jike ALC (Anatomic, 92g), FH: Tenergy 05 2.1, BH: TSP Spectol 2.1.

Have you experienced this as well? Do you know what may be causing it? I've got a few theories:

1) The FH rubber (Tenergy 05) is much heavier than the BH rubber (Spectol) which may cause the bat to lean sideways away from the palm of the hand and resting all its weight on the bottom of the middle finger
2) The FH rubber is thicker than the BH rubber (The Spectol is meant to be 2.1 but looks more like 1.9) which may result in uneven grip between FH and BH
3) My hands are quite big - the anatomic handle is thinner at the upper part just below the rubber. Maybe this wouldn't be that much of a problem with a straight handle (e.g. Timo Boll ALC) which is thicker at the top.

Any ideas?

It is possible to use both Middle and Pointer fingers for your backhand support ? It might feel a little forehand locked but once you get used to Shakehand grip with 2 fingers on the backhand rubber it might be workable.
