Never played with pips out in my life, except for as a kid while using those super-cheap $1.99 bats you see in supermarkets in packs of four, which doesn't really count

That said, I used to play against a bloke some years back who consistently gave me all sorts of trouble - more than any other pips out player I've played against. He only ever used "Dr Evil" by 729 and he would swear by it for both deceptive spin and great control.

Don't know if Dr Evil is still any good (or if it was EVER any good... maybe this guy was really a far better than I gave him credit for) ...but given the price of the stuff per sheet, it's hardly going to break to bank to give it a go. Its an OX rubber from memory so you can match it with whatever sponge you like.

Before this COVidiot Scamdemic, I played against someone using an Andro short-pips, which I found downright weird.. Sadly, I can't recollect the variant (of the Andro short-pip, I mean)
