Stick to it and learn it! Report back your findings. Good luck!

N9 and N3 are nice inexpensive options. They pair well with Mercury 2’s.

Also- U3 is nice pairing with H3’s.

Skyline 3-60 is a gem! Love that rubber.

You can’t go wrong with the YSE. Great value!
I started with the even slower version, Yasaka Sweden Classic.

thatnks, but there is less information on which rubbers to put on the YSE. I would maybe try Rakza 7 and Rakza 7 soft on the backhand - all 2.0mm

Rakza or Rakza soft on backhand (Red)

Anything slow and Chinese on forehand (Black). There are lots of options but these days there are better and more affordable options than commercial Hurricane 3. It's just not worth buying anymore.
There's Yinhe Mercury 2, Yinhe Mars 2, Yinhe Big Dipper, Loki Rxton V, Palio AK47 hard, Reactor Tornado, Reactor Ckylin... All viable options for forehand, all as good as if not better than Hurricane 3.

Palio AK47 Hard or Ak47 Red is a typical tensor one of the fastest rubbers for compact strokes

my bad. Sorry I just lumped them all into one category.
just good rubbers in general. imo more bang for your buck than H3 these days tho.
modern H3 variants with alternate sponges are getting into the Xiom/Donic price territory

It’s something you’ll have to feel out and adjust to.

I would do a variant of Hurricane or skyline and start out with skyline 3-60 or R7s for Bh on YEO if I were in your shoes.

Yes, I would. Especially since it seems like it’s hard for you to make a decision. I can’t imagine you deciding what’s next [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND COLD SWEAT]

YEO would last you longer in terms of potential in my opinion (i.e., it would take longer to outgrow)

I hate it when people use acronyms.. I had to go look it up..

The "YEO" is apparently this:

https://www.tabletennis11.com/other_eng ... -power-pen

It's a 7 ply, EUR41, OFF+, 89 gram blade with "light carbon".

and the "YSE" is this:

https://www.tabletennis11.com/other_eng ... tra-ch-pen

It's a 5 ply, EUR26, ALL+, 82 gram blade, all wood. Essentially the same thing as a Stiga Allround Classic.

The "YSE" fits the criteria I listed earlier. The "YEO" is considerably heavier and a lot faster. What's going to happen if you get a "YEO"? You'll be hitting your shots off the table, and developing gimpy strokes to compensate.

OUTGROWING the "YSE"???? Heck, you could be rated over 2500 and not "outgrow" the "YSE". Lots of players this level use that same general type of blade, and haven't moved to anything faster for very good reasons. It'd be a LONG TIME before you "outgrow" the "YSE". Most likely never. Getting the "YEO" would actually HURT. You'd hurt your control, your strokes, your serves, your wrist, your fingers. Penhold bats are meant to be lightweight, adding the second sheet for RPB means a lot of added weight. Add a heavy blade, and it's even worse.

I think by YEO we were referring to Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Offensive. Sorry for the confusion.

You’re right, about not outgrowing the YSE- but typically people feel the need for more and start to (illogically) question their equipment at the first plateau of their growth.

Just trying to save OP some money, as there should not be the thought of him outgrowing that blade and keep them on track to training ;)

This is the YEO, a FIVE ply (not 7 ply) all wood blade. Weight is variable. I keep mine below 85g.

I have a few. :)

Just to be clear.

With YSE i mean Yasaka Sweden Extra and that is the blade I will probably buy, as I decided against YEO(yasaka extra offensive) due the help of the people.

I have 2 rubber scenarios for the Sweden: Mark V on both sides or Rakza 7 soft on both. I think having two identical rubbers could bring me some basic understanding when i will in future change rubbers. But are these light rubbers? i want to be sure my final setup will not be too heavy.

I also have seen most people decide for the Extra offensive, even if they are beginners. That could be a mistake or?
