Hi i recently got my eyes onto xiom ice-cream and i saw that it has two sides, one in alc and the other in zlc, i've read that people feel zlc side slower and someone plays pips on it, i play some aggressive kind of modern defense so i was wondering if it could be possible to put a slow LP on the zlc side to chop with and inverted on the alc to play aggressive with forehand
Do you think is possible ?

You may want more dwell to impart maximum backspin with LP, so the AZXi (inner composite, limba) may be more suitable for chopping.

If you are looking for more reversal at the table then AZX would be better, though you would use thinner sponge <0.8mm to make use of the crispier koto.

ZLC should be lower throw and yes it should be the slower side as I read to balance the blade Xiom engineers needed to thicken up the ALC layer more.

I can chop fine with Viscaria so if you feel you can handle the speed of AZX regardless you can go for it. I have noticed AZX is usually listed cheaper vs AZXi.

OP stated aggressive modern defense, which to me means prioritising offense where possible. Somewhere along the lines of present day Wang Xi.

There are Pro versions of AZX/AZXi which have a bigger headsize 160x152 that would be more suitable for chopping vs normal version 157x150.
