Hi all

Just wondering if anyone knows how or why there is that side bulge for the Jpen handle at the cork on the index finger side? I thought that cork up there was mostly straight.

Do you add extra cork there or are there different Jpens that come like that?

The reason I'm asking is because I already have a normal Jpen but would be interested in trying a racket with that little bulge on the index side.

Google it. There are various bulges at different parts and of different shapes people made for jpen and cpen. You could use cork to make/copy them because cork is easy to form and light.

I have tried googling but no luck on anything that goes into it, in English. The pictures were all I could find.

Maybe I'll try get some cork and add a bit to the handle and see how it goes.

Most are probably going to come with straight block handles. (unless they are made for twiddling)

However, jpens are pretty personal and custom by nature, it's not uncommon to find various odd shapes that people created to match the way that they feel comfortable.

Also, you can see that there are small blocks of cork glued onto the standard straight handle in your second picture. Original handle in red, added bits in green

Shouldn't be difficult to add someone like that temporarily. Use a contact cement, removable using something like lighter fluid.

Go to your local restaurant that sells wine and ask them for an old cork.
