Hey, hope you all can help me EJ ...

Setup now is acoustic carbon lg with rozena fh and flashback MP bh. Problem is I have zero skills blocking dead/short with longish pips. I get no practice or coaching right now so hoping to improve it by EJing.

I love the fh, but feel like the AC is too fast for blocking with MP at my woeful skill level. Wondering if I get a slower blade, with a faster or bouncier fh rubber than rozena, can I net some bh improvement without losing a lot of fh quality?

Maybe the all-wood acoustic with T05 or D05 fh?

I don't know, what does the collective wisdom of OOAK say?

Thanks to all for the many reads. The collective wisdom of ooak is silent. The path of the EJ is a lonely one.

They’re giving you time to come back to reason by yourself. Ha!

Best solution is to tough it up. You’ll get the hang of blocking with it in due time. When I switched to using medium pips from inverted, I suddenly lost to people who I have 5 points handicap before. I learned to use it myself. And with time I climbed back to my original positioned to giving them 5 points handicap. But no changing equipment so all my attention/focus is solely on the MP and not dividing it with different blade and different inverted.

But if you really want to EJ, DHS 506X is similar to Acoustic Carbon (outer) just a step or two slower. Otherwise if you want to go all wood, get a 7 ply off blade (Clipper/CR, YEO, Xylo, etc).

Did not touch pure carbon blade for ages. I discovered that ALC/ZLC blades do not fit me. Especially for MP side.

A big influence re how an MP plays is the thickness and hardness of the sponge. - thick sponge can be more bouncy whilst thin sponge can lead to bottoming out on blocking fast balls which is more noticeable on a hard carbon blade What thickness sponge is you flashback currently
