Not much changing rules-wise after this year's AGM/BoD meetings;

Here's the highlights:

The maximum limit of 2.0 on the MiniRAE-Lite will not go into effect in August 2011 as originally planned. The maximum reading of 3.0 will continue to at least August 2013. This is was proposed by the China Association and passed.
-----
The final result of thickness measurement for inverted rubber will remain 4.04mm. The Japan TT Assn proposed lowering it to 4mm, but this was defeated.
-----
An amendment proposed by the Japan TT Assn was passed amending rule 3.2.4.1 to read "It is the responsibility of each player to ensure that racket coverings are attached to their racket blade with adhesives that do not contain harmful volatile solvents; in the attachment of racket coverings to blades, shall not be used as pre-coating material."

Interestingly the phrases "any solvent additives such as boosters, tuners etc." and "without any adhesive capability" were removed. Why?
-----
The resolution proposed by the Latvian Assn to DISCUSS changing the service rule to "loser serves" passed 73-48

speculation here: 'such as boosters, tuners, etc' is pretty loose terminology. The 'without any adhesive capability' bit though, does this just make manufacturer pretunes legal?

So might we assume that the serve change proposal discussion will take place during the next year now?

Sounds like a fair assumption... I don't know why they need to vote just to discuss things... if it needs discussion, just do it :o
