After 16 hours of training with the swedish trainer Hans Thalin, he recommended me to try Yasaka Razka 7 Soft 2.0mm on my FH.

Anyone tried this one and could tell how it plays ?
My blade is Butterfly Korbel Off.

There are some threads here about it:

viewtopic.php?f=44&t=12969&start=15

I think the normal Razka has been reviewed more, but there is commentary on the soft as well. There is another thread where Baal has a review in it too, but I couldn't find it in first search. I was only reading it the other day.

Today I tried my Yasaka Raska 7 Soft, and I liked it very much. The sponge is soft but the rubber surface is a bit harder than my Stiga Boost TS. The reason I changed rubber is that I'm learning a new FH technique that suits harder rubber better. Instead of using the whole arm to get speed, I use my wrist to "kick" the ball on impact. This rubber worked perfect for that. Also it was A LOT better to chop on FH with Razka because of the harder surface. Very good control on this shot.
The spin from this rubber I just love :)

I did use the Rakza 7 Soft Max before changing it. It's a very good rubber. My only complaint with it comes when you do service returns. The ball tends to pop up high which due to its thickness.

I should had gone for a 2.0mm. That would have been the best bet.

I use 2.0mm and it worked well on service returns :)

Yep, I used in max for 2 months or so. Very good for attacking, both loop and smash. A little too hard to control when fishing from some distance why I changed to my current setup. Many players in Sweden uses this rubber (all that used Pryde and Mark V before that). Yasaka and Stiga are the most common brands here I think.

It's such a good rubber. Spinnier over the table than tenergy and equal spin away from the table. It does everything better than tenergy other than counterlooping. It has the same spin on counterloops just not the same ease of use and "pop" than tenergy gives on counterloops. In my opinion this is the best backhand rubber for all attacking players and the best forehand rubber for those that like soft rubbers on their forehand.

I use 2.0 on the backhand. It's very, very durable. When it wears out (however long that may take), I'm going to use 2.2.

:)

Yes, I went to a club in Oslo, they use Thalin 1 week per month. Last time he was there I had my authumn holiday, so I went there for 5 days :)
Have to say that it was regular training, not specialized pimple training, so I had a week with good improvement on my FH, and changed my rubber after that week. Played a lot better from ball nr 1 with this rubber :)

I want to try this rubber. How does it compare to Donic baracuda?

Enjoy the game. It is a never ending learning experience once you play and keep the ball on that 45 sq ft of space or should I say half of that space.

I would guess similar characteristics but softer sponge and harder topsheet but still very grippy. Throw would be similar. But I hink that the Rakza 7 Soft would be, well, softer and spinnier as well as slower. But still fast.
