The BH is supposed to be TSP Spinpips with specialized chop sponge.
I don't know the thickness tho..

I've read that he uses TSP Super Spinpips on Chop sponge several times. I believe the thickness is in the 1.2/1.3 range. Could we possibly get a moderator to update the title of this thread so as to represent his short-pip-iness?

I have hijacked notbob's blog thread but found out that Yuto has his own dedicated thread! Here are 3 match practice sets I played against Yuto at training on Friday.

Wow, that guy has great technique and his defensive moves are so fluent. :Defense: When he gains some power, he might be Joo's replacement.

Oh, yes, you also played good, William... (sorry, pip fan here! :D )

That was funny as hell :D
Anyway, great video, I showed it to my friend saying: that's how you should do loops from chopped balls. William's technique was very clear :)

I agree with Lorre and Justas. And I am very impressed by your game William, did you missread his spin from chops more than like two times? I have seen him fool Wang Hao (he took a set from him here in Sweden, video of that earlier in this thread), so I know he can play a very deceptive game.

Two questions: you used your tomahawk from middle to his FH in the first set and forced him to decide weather or not to return with his pips - why did you not continue with that serve?

On a camp like this (great venue by the way), do you feel like you can reveal all your secrets (serves, combinations, weaknesses etc) to the ones you are practising with? I mean, will they have advantages when facing you at a major competition if you practise your best serve or stroke with them? And vice versa of course...

Thanks guys. Unfortunately my game and technique is not optimal against defense. Firstly I don't have a big forehand weapon to kill the ball. My normal game is to play fast and take the ball early after the bounce. I do go better against guys like Muramatsu as it is almost a cat and mouse game where I can work him around the court.

I have practiced a great deal against Henrik Rosvall (Swedish short pimple chopper who was ranked around 100 in the world 5 - 10 years ago) so I can read the spin without many problems. I think I made the point in notbob's thread that his defense will be much more effective when he is strong enough to keep his chops low. That will force the opponent to really make his mind up and make it up earlier as to what spin is on the ball. The attacked will need to lift the backspin more which will make him more susceptible to misreading the nospin chops.

I did a couple of sessions again Fan Ying (yes, Chinese national player) who plays Champions League matches for the team here in Vienna. Now she can keep the ball low and her variation is extremely impressive. She is also very polished when it comes to turning the game around and attacking loose topspins, whereas Yuto is still completely unpolished.

There are so many players in the World def-attack and the chances I will lose some advantage by not playing all my serves or shots is far outweighed by what I will gain by going for it. I'd have to watch the video a couple of times to work out what my service tactics at the time were.
