I can't seem to find any vendors in the US that sell sponge without a topsheet with any variety. Cole's carries a couple of sponges, Affordable TT and the OOAK Shop in Australia carries a couple of sponges, Westchester's website has two sponge types in one thickness each and appears to be permanently out of stock on both, and there's one site in Poland that sells a bunch of Chinese sponges. Is there any US vendor that I'm missing? I can't even find most of the Chinese sponges on Ebay or AliExpress, I don't know if I'm using the wrong search terms or what.

To update the others in the thread, I ended up ordering some sponges from the Polish site I mentioned in the OP (inters.pl) , as they had the best variety of sponge thicknesses and hardnesses. Oddly enough, they didn't zero-rate the VAT as other EU sites normally do for exports to the USA. I mentioned it in my order notes, maybe they'll refund me the 23%.
