What are the pros & cons to use dampening sponge like the D.M.E., Joola Toni Hold, etc.?

The same used to fix the rubber to the blade?

What equipment he's using?

I'm using the LP to block or chop/block close to the table.

I guess this type of dampening sponge isn't like the others that increase speed.

He's using D.TecS OX with quite a few glue sheets that's supposed to act dampening. Not sure about the FH but I seem to recall that he's using T05.

I used only with 1 glue sheets and the LP performs way faster.

I honestly can't feel the difference between OX + glue and OX + glue sheets + glue.

I guess that it depends on what glue sheet you use. I've only tried Donic (my preference), Nittaku and the one supplied with the Dr Neubauer rubbers and they're all so thin that I have a hard time believing that it will have any effect. I always put glue on the blade prior to fixing the glue sheet to the blade in order to prevent splintering so maybe it's different if you just fix the glue sheet directly to the blade.

I don't use glue with the glue sheets.

With glue I put a thick quantity.

?? Sounds like the Air Zero is what you want. Doesn't cost very much, just buy a sheet and tell us what you think.

Lp becomes spin sensitive, any effects are lessened

That's not logical.

You know, that video's title screen is, in spirit, very much in line with the names certain companies give their anti and long pips rubbers. You know, like - Nightmare. Undertaker. Virus. LSD. Spin Parasite. B.A.D. Predator. Diabolic. MRSA. Scandal. Turtle Twister  . Gorilla. Badman. Firearms. Grizzly. Desperado. Killer. Gangster. Trouble Maker. Super Meth. Poison. H1N1. P90.

I tried normal sponge (not dampening), the result was more thick sponge more similar to inverted rubber the LP becomes.

I tried two types of the dampening sponge ,the air one which was stiff and like card as I remember, the Toni hold one was more like felt and a little better to use however the increased dwell of the ball on the blade gives the spin more time to react with the lp and the spin continuation is killed when blocking,I was a sitting duck against league players and it wasn't for me,if you want more dampening maybe look for a slower ox lp or a different blade
