I am an modern defender playing at 1800 rating ( danish rating )
I have a pretty good chopping game Away From the table, but struggle with my LP shots over the table.
I use the following at the moment :

Joola Chen Weixing
Butterfly Tenergy 05
Saviga-V

Which ox lp would you recommend for both chopping, pushing, blockingand lifting ?
It needs to chop very Well, and still do the other parts pretty good.
I have used the following earlier :

Grass Dtechs
Dornenglanz
Feint long 3
Trouble maker.

You're essentially asking which OX LP does everything well. Hard to answer that one, but you might consider trying the DMS Kamikaze OX. It's a great all-round rubber with pips that are firm enough that it hits pretty well. It chops very easily and consistently, though other long pips might generate a bit more underspin on chops. And it does block very well, returning blocks with a low trajectory and some spin reversal.

Check out S&T Schmerz! It's great for a game based around hit, chop and active style of blocks. Its a little spin sensitive for passive blocks though.
Rubbers that excel at passive blocking such as D'Tecs and Badman are generally to "slick" to hit easily with.

Maybe i should look at something different.
Is the any short pips that chops okay ?

I have quite a good backhand attack but always struggled with with service returns with inverted rubbers.

Is there any that has succes with kind of solution ?

Yes there are SP that chops OK, of course SP helps with service returns.

TSP Spinpips RED is a short pips rubber that does pretty much everything, but obviously you have to play much more actively with short pips than you would with long pips. You need to attack much more, in other words, and chopping is going to be far more technically difficult than with long pips. I found that I was never able to generate as much underspin on short pips chops against topspin as I could with EITHER inverted OR long pips, but that may have been something about my technique.

If you're still looking at long pips, by the way, another option you might want to consider is the Palio ck531a. I've actually never used it, but from everything I've read, it can be used to chop, hit and block effectively (not sure, also, how good it is for the new ball).

I am thinking about going more towards grippy lp rubbers, to avoid problems with no spin balls.
And easier attacking.

Would you recommend FL2, FL3 Curl P4 or something different for this style ?

At this point doesnt matter what you change to, since you'll miss one of the other elements at some point during the rally... and want to swap back vice versa. If it's not grippy, they'll play no spin etc. If it is grippy like fl3, they can still use heavy spin and force you to read it or return weak no spin balls due to low or no reversal pips.

The grippy lps are basically like weak short pips with fewer attack options but a little safer all around. The more inverted like the less pip points you get from uncommon spin returns. A pip like fl3... I find most opponents wont even know it's an lp without looking!

The only benefit there is you can create knuckle balls much easier. Even if you try to spin it, most hits will have far less spin than anticipated. That is the "deception " of grippy lp, though it wears off quickly once your opponent adjusts to the knuckles. Then it's got to be a mix between fh and bh causing them to mess up

Whilst easy to hit with, these LPs are fairly slow and pretty grippy. Your attacks may be easy for your opponents to return.

+1 for skillless slappers above statement

Spectol is really good if you’ve got the skills. Chops are amazing if your timing is good.

I agree with above. Grippy LPs are useless and you may as well use a proper SP.

Feint Long 2 in 1mm sponge. Pretty much does everything very well. Awesome rubber and much overlooked.

I agree with this. Feint 2 can do it all. However when I block or hit wit it, the ball gets returned easily to often. Something like D'tecs can do the same while creating a more difficult ball to return.

Still I like both of these so much. I found that Feint 2 does give me more precision and a better chop, but D'tecs brings my overal game to a higher level.

I think the only reason you'd use a somewhat grippy or grippy LP like FL2 with sponge... is when you want nothing but extreme consistency. Every ball back on the table, with as much spin as it can produce, low and consistent. You won't be able to change the spin much and so the bamboozling from "spin variation" is pretty negligible.

In my experience, even at the amateur levels where I play, the grippy pips do not produce many errors by the opponent. Not very soon, anyway. If you want to play the push and chop them out game, then you'll get more mistakes. However... that goes back to the consistency! You're not winning through trickery, but by utilizing sheer attrition and precision. Keep the ball low and consistent, there you go.

If you want more tricky balls... you either go with a low grip LP and have the 'weird' returns confuse your opponent now and again. Or you go with short pips and really crank up the spin. The others are just too predictable for that kind of game.

Interesting. I found spin variation on Feint 2 much easier to produce than on Curl P1. The trickery is certainly there alright, just different. I found Feint a very much unexpected revelation.
