Hi guys, my name is Tim. I’m new to this forum and I have always asked myself something. So, what I have noticed is that if a player becomes successful with a pips rubber their rubbers mainly get banned. E.g if you look at someone like Liu Guoliang. He has played with the official TSP Spinpips rubber. If I am not wrong (I may be) Spinpips were introduced before Liu Guoliang ‘’dominated’’. The same goes with someone like Deng Yaping with Yung 639a or you could also say Fabian Akerstrom with his Hallmark Original. Even if Akerstrom didn’t have the success the ones I mentioned before had he was still the best frictionless long pips player along with Amelie Solja. So, I find this a little unfair because if one takes a look at players who had success with inverted rubber (Ma Long, Waldner, Zhang Jike etc.) their rubbers like Hurricane 3 weren’t banned. Now I’d like to know your opinion about this topic :) . And please don’t judge me because of my English, I’m still learning and wanting to improve  .

So Deng Yaping actually used those weird mushroom pips? Interesting.

As for your hypothesis.. Point out a few more and I'd begin to believe you. Otherwise, there's lots of players playing with (long, I suppose) pips out there in the top 50 (especially among the women) who haven't had their rubbers banned.. Akerstrom isn't a convincing example - you'd have to be ranked in the top 50 before you'd be one, to me. Otherwise it just sounds like an axe to grind.
