Hi, I'll be going to San Francisco for a bit over a week soon, and I might stop by a table tennis club there if I have a few spare moments. Can anyone recommend places located within the City (or easy to access through BART)? Thanks.

Will you be in the City proper or in some surrounding community (East Bay, Marin, Peninsula, etc)? What are your dates/times of possible TT play?

I'll be staying across the bridge in Oakland, but I'll be spending most of my time in San Francisco proper. We won't be renting a car, so I'll likely be using BART and, if need be, Ubers, etc. As far as times, I'm thinking probably the evening, after dinner, around 8 p.m. or after is when I'd be able to make it to a place. I'll be out there starting late this week (until February 8th) but realistically won't be able to play until sometime next week. Thanks.

There are no TT clubs that are BART-accessible as far as I know. Here are the clubs that you might want to visit:

Alameda TTC: http://alamedattc.org/
iTableTennis Albany: 533 San Pablo Ave, Albany, CA 94706
ICC: http://www.indiacc.org/tabletennis
CTTC: https://sites.google.com/site/concordtabletennis

More in the South Bay but that's not an easy reach from Oakland without a car.

You'll find 2000+ players at ICC and ATTC but recommend you sign up to play in their weekly RR if your schedule allows. Otherwise, you're going to be dropping in during free play foraging for hitting partners and I'm not familiar enough with those clubs to know how you'd fare. Ping me if you're available Sunday morning (9am-1pm) and have any interest in playing at CTTC. I play there on most Sundays and pass thru Oakland on my way.

Thanks. Will try to make it to at least one of these places. Much as I'd be happy to meet up to play, Sunday morning unfortunately isn't looking very likely because I have to be in the wedding party in a wedding in Berkeley early Sunday afternoon (which is what I'm going to S.F. for), and I probably shouldn't be showing up there sweaty, in a tracksuit, with my paddle in tow -- though, as I'm sure you can appreciate, I'd much RATHER be playing table tennis.

Berkeley TTC: http://berkeleytabletennis.org/

I used to play in their Friday night RR but haven't in several years.

The closest and most accessible club to Oakland is Alameda TTC.

Fruitvale Bart is 2 miles away, and takes about 10 minutes via Bus 51A, or about 5 minutes by Uber.

Directions are here: http://www.alamedattc.org/gettinghere.htm

Round Robins are Wednesday and Sunday with an average attendance around 30-40. Players range from USATTR 300 to 2650.

Round Robin info is here: http://www.alamedattc.org/roundrobin.htm

When coming for Round Robin it is advisable to put the club late line 510-838-1150 in your cell phone, so you can call if you are running late.

* Please note the video is old, and we no longer have Round Robin on Tuesdays. Also lighting has been upgraded since this video. *

Thanks to both of you for the great info. Now I'm just hoping I'll actually be able to find the time to get out to one of these places.
